Leawood Forest locked up their goal scoring striker by signing England's top scorer, Ben Parkes. Parkes becomes the first offensive player to sign with the club and is sure to fit in well with coach Boukenhoufa's game style.
Even though Parkes lives in Shawnee, he still chose Forest as the club to sign with.
"The club is supremely ambitious, well organized and moving quick to build a strong squad for the upcoming season. The combination of these factors along with the desire for success of the owner made signing for Leawood Forest a no-brainer." - 9 Ben Parkes when asked, why Leawood Forest.
Playing for an international team can have its challenges as players have limited training time together so building that team bond and knowing one another's tendencies can be a real challenge. Despite that, Parkes was able to capitalize.
"I’m excited at the prospect of playing with some of the most talented players from different styles, nationalities and experience levels. Judging by the chance creation we saw from teams such as Algeria throughout the Select World Cup, I’d hope to be able to accelerate my goal-scoring exploits with the talented squad being assembled at Leawood Forest."
Parkes will be wearing the number 9 jersey.
