Leawood Forest Football Club has unveiled ambitious plans to enhance the match day experience for both players and supporters at their home pitch on Kenneth Road. These improvements will be carried out in a series of phases, transforming the pitch into a more welcoming and comfortable venue for all. Here's an overview of the proposed changes:
Phase 1: Enhanced Team Facilities
- Locker Rooms: The first phase will focus on creating better facilities for both home and away teams. This includes constructing 10x20 walled canopy locker rooms located on the east side of the pitch.
- Covered Bench Seating: Alongside the locker rooms, there will be an adjoining 10x10 canopy serving as covered seating for each team during the match.
- Pregame Tunnel: A 10x10 canopy will be built to serve as a pregame tunnel from which the teams will emerge. This structure will also function as a shaded rest area for referees.
Phase 2: Club Shop
- Club Shop: In the southwest corner of the pitch, a 10x10 canopy will be set up to house a club shop. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase various club items such as t-shirts, hats, scarves, and jerseys. The supply will be dictated by demand.
Phase 3: Audio and Supporters Area
- Sound System: Two additional speakers will be added to the existing two, improving audio quality for match commentary and announcements.
- Premium Supporters Area: On the west side of the pitch, a 10x20 canopy will be constructed with seating in the shade for premium ticket holders. There will also be up to four shaded seats outside the main canopy.
- Food Truck: When supporter attendance reaches at least 50 per match, a food truck will be stationed close to the entrance, southwest of the pitch, providing a full match day menu.
Phase 4: Permanent Clubhouse
- Clubhouse Construction: The largest and most long-term phase involves building a permanent clubhouse structure utilizing recycled shipping containers.
- Clubhouse Features: The clubhouse will include two locker rooms with bathrooms and showers, a kitchen/bar area, and a VIP lounge modeled after the many small clubs throughout England.
