Leawood Forest FC Home Pitch

As Leawood Forest searches for the location to call home, a few potentials have been ruled out. Originally it was hoped that Leawood City Park would be the home to Forest, but their largest field was not only unavailable, but it was also too small. The second choice was Roe Park, however upon further investigation, that pitch is too small as well.

This leads the club to look just outside of the Leawood borders while staying relatively close in order to represent Leawood. Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Kenneth Road Soccer Complex are now being looked into as the new home of Leawood Forest Football Club.

Scheels Overland Park Soccer field is probably the readiest facility. There are lights for potential night matches, concessions for sale and even bleachers for supporters. While this is the case, the one downside is that it is artificial turf which the League frowns upon.

Kenneth Road Soccer Complex is the other location under consideration. Located just across the Missouri-Kansas border from Leawood, it allows a close proximity to the community. The fields are natural grass which means they would need to be lined for each home match. There are also no lights for night matches and no bleachers for supporters. There would be an opportunity, however, for concessions as food trucks are a possibility.

"The home pitch will need to be one that not only gives our club the best opportunity at success but also one that is beneficial to any of our supporters and keeps them coming back." ~Owner/Chairman Brandon Fisher
