Leawood Forest Football Club is excited to announce the addition of an adult women's team to our club, expanding our commitment to providing soccer opportunities for all players in our community. Open to all women ages 18 and over, the new team will compete against other women’s teams in the Select League starting this May, bringing more diversity and excitement to Kansas City's soccer scene.
Club owner Brandon Fisher shared his enthusiasm for the new team, saying, "We're excited to bring another team into the Leawood Forest family. Like our men's first team, our women's first team has big plans for this season and beyond." Fisher and the club view the women’s team as a significant opportunity to grow the Leawood Forest community and to create a positive impact on women’s soccer in the region.
The launch of a women’s team is also an important milestone for the Kansas City soccer landscape. Currently, the KC area lacks an organized women’s league at the adult level, making this development a pivotal step for female athletes eager to continue playing the game locally.
The club’s primary sponsor, Cuvée KC, is also thrilled about the expansion. Cuvée KC’s owner praised the move, calling it "great news" and noting that this addition will provide greater exposure not only for Leawood Forest FC but for all the club’s partners.
