Leawood Forest 6-0 Real Overland Park – Blue Valley Switzer Activity Complex

Leawood Forest delivered a statement performance this past Saturday at the Blue Valley Switzer Activity Complex, routing rivals Real Overland Park 6-0 in one of the most complete team displays of the season.

It was a night-and-day difference from the season opener, when Forest fell 2-1 to Real despite creating several chances. This time, Forest seized control early and never let go. From kickoff, the visitors controlled possession, dictated the pace, and pressed forward relentlessly. It was a showcase of intent, skill, and cohesion.

Mo Kassama continued his scoring tear, finding the back of the net twice to bring his season total to six goals. Iradiel Torres, Samuel Habimana, James Foster, and Mark Conroy each added a goal of their own, reflecting the depth and balance in the Forest attack.

Midseason addition Nico Navarro was everywhere in the buildup play, providing two assists and pulling strings in midfield. His arrival during the summer window has coincided with a clear shift in Forest’s form and confidence. The team that once struggled to convert chances is now unrecognizable: composed, lethal, and organized.

Since the summer transfer window, Forest has drawn away to reigning champions Woodland FC and now dismantled Real Overland Park in the derby. The momentum is real, and the squad looks primed for more.

Next up was scheduled to be a league clash with Olathe United this Saturday, but that fixture is being postponed—tentatively rescheduled for Wednesday, June 11—as Forest shifts its focus to the Kansas State Cup. In a dramatic twist of fate, they’ve drawn none other than Real Overland Park in the opening round.

After this past weekend’s performance, Forest fans will be hoping for a repeat result.

A spot in the Region 2 Tournament of Champions in Fort Wayne, Indiana, awaits the State Cup winner and runner-up—an opportunity Forest now looks well-positioned to seize.

Stay tuned. Something special is happening at Leawood Forest.
