Leawood Forest announces today that center attacking midfielder Djobany Jean has committed to playing for Leawood Forest in the upcoming 2024 season. Djobany will wear number 7 on his jersey displaying his playing name of PRIMO. He joins fellow Haitian internationals Simeon Jean and Venelson Ernst along with English striker Ben Parkes and Uzbekistani goalkeeper Otabek Yuldashev.
We talked to the newest Forest player to get to know him.
Why did you decide that Leawood Forest was the club you wanted to play for?
DJ: I chose Leawood forest club for various reasons such as club culture. I join Leawood forest club for playing style,personal connections and to bring the community together. I also consider the club's reputation and achievements.
What do you bring to the club that can help them be successful?
DJ: As an individual player, I can bring various skills and qualities to a club, such as teamwork, leadership, technical ability, physical fitness, and tactical. But generally, coaches look for players who can contribute to the team's goals and improve their overall performance.
Simeon Jean is also in the club, any relation?
DJ: Having Simeon Jean as a teammate and captain is a great honor for me. We have a strong relationship both on and off the field, which I believe is critical to building a successful team. As his former captain for the Haitian team, it's great to see how our roles have now reversed, and I feel proud and happy to play alongside him. Our bond as players is something that I truly value, and I believe it helps us to perform better as a team.
When you're not focused on soccer, what do you enjoy in your spare time?
DJ: Outside of soccer, I have different hobbies and interests. enjoys reading, watching movies, playing video games, traveling, or spending time with friends and family. It's essential to have a balance between your sports career and personal life to maintain mental and physical well-being.
What's your favorite movie, video game and last book you've read?
DJ: My favorite movie is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I love Superman. My favorite video games are FIFA and GTA5. The last book I read was "48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene.
